What Should You Do First When Planning a Wedding?
First agree on a total budget and a rough guest count, then pick a season and book the venue, ideally 10–14 months ahead. Next book the vendors that sell out fastest: photographer, caterer and DJ or band. Florist, hair and makeup, cake and rentals usually follow 4–8 months before the wedding.
